Coffee Talk | For the Love of Old Homes

The Saffran household has been shaking it up a little bit lately!  Home buying and maternity leave, oh my!  We have been house hunting for what seems like forever going between two states and never sure where we would end up.  Finally, we sold our home in Vegas and decided to look for a little spot in our hometown, DeLand.    We kept looking and putting bids on homes always by the water.  It became clear that David and I both wanted to be by a lake, creek or even a pond!  Whelp, we finally took the plunge and found the perfect home!  Though it is far from perfect now we are so in love with our 1953 farm style house that we plan to renovate to a lakeside cottage(esque)!  This house is true to it's time with a pink flamingo bathroom, hard wood and terrazzo floors and a front sitting porch!  Bonus it came with a jungle, I do love the mix of old Florida foliage and it is sustainable..

With little Millie's due date fast approaching and a mountain of renovations needed to our cottage love we have our hands full!  I am happy to say that from October 11th-January 1st I will be taking maternity leave and concentrating on our family and making a new home.

Here are a few tidbits of our home endeavor.  I would love to hear any ideas for renovations, especially, the bathrooms and kitchen (it's all on the honey-do list!).

There is so much pink in this house!  I am under the impression that the lady of the original home was quite a looker.  We will definitely have to find a way to honor her love of pink, it's what is best for the home!  And my mother-in-laws homemade bread was perfection for a first meal.
